About the event
Mid-September in West Virginia is peak time to head out and enjoy lingering breeders and passage migrants as they make their way south. One of the most sought-after and hard-to-find warblers in North America is the Connecticut Warbler. Little Indian Creek WMA just happens to be one of the very best spots to see these skulkers during migration. Join leader Derek Courtney for a morning of birding fun as we seek out the elusive Connecticut Warbler and whatever else happens to be around. Meet at 7:30am at the gravel parking lot by the gate off of Birchfield Run Road (coordinates: 39.59539, -80.06615). Walking will be on mostly flat, gravel roads. The road leading to the parking area can be a little rough at times depending on weather/maintenance; email trip leader Derek Courtney with questions: derek.dana.courtney@gmail.com.
