Join us at the new Wild Birds Unlimited store across from the Morgantown Mall (7095 Mall Road, Morgantown) for this presentation by Thomas K. Pauley, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at Marshall University. Dr. Pauley has been studying amphibians and reptiles in West Virginia since 1966. Since 1976, he has studied salamander ecology in the West Virginia subalpine forest. His primary research species in these high elevations is the Cheat Mountain Salamander (Plethodon nettingi). During this time, he surveyed over 1,300 sites for the Cheat Mountain salamander and found it at 136 sites. Salamanders at these 136 sites are now known to belong to about 81 disjunct populations.
